The Workshop at the bottom of the garden is well used so a path to give access to it across the lawn was important. I decided, rather than hide the path by running it down either side of the garden, to make a feature of it by running it centrally down the garden bisecting either side creating a slightly contemporary look.
We replaced the existing terrace adjacent to the Conservatory with Stonemarket Millstone Paving with a Paving Circle in the Centre. As the Damp Proof Course on both the house and Conservatory was high enough we were able to lay the new paving straight on top of the old thus saving the cost of ripping up the old paving and disposing of it.
At the bottom of the garden single Pergolas run across the front of the Workshop and Utility Area with tensioned Stainless Steel Cables running between the posts to give the climbing plants something to scramble over. This will in time create a green screen between this area and the garden.
Adjacent to the Terrace are two raised herb borders bordered with a formal box hedge. Finally the contemporary granite water feature creates a focal point from the terrace.
