After a full and successful career in the British Army, Mike studied Garden Design at the prestigious English Gardening School based at The Chelsea Physic Garden London.
After graduating from the English Gardening School, Mike set up his own company, The Garden Path, with the objective of offering a friendly but professional garden design and landscaping service that would be flexible enough to suit all budgets and requirements.
Mike now has clients based throughout the UK with properties ranging from small town houses to large country estates. He also provides freelance garden design to Landscape Contractors, Landscape Architects & Architects based in the South and the West Country.
During his career as a Garden Designer and Landscaper, Mike has also been the Specialist Horticultural Researcher on three series of the BBC1 garden makeover programme Garden Invaders.
In 2005, Mike and his team mate, Ian Penny, entered the Channel 4 garden design and build competition The Great Garden Challenge. During the competition, Mike and Ian built three innovative gardens making it through to the semi-finals when they were finally knocked out by the eventual winners.
If you would like to discuss any of the services offered by The Garden Path in more detail, please contact us.
We look forward to hearing from you.
“Mike's ability to conceptualise a client’s vague ideas and turn them into something tangible is extraordinary. My knowledge and understanding of landscapes, gardens and garden design can be written on the back of a postage stamp, so when it is a real relief to have someone with Mike's knowledge and understanding to be able to act as a guide to what can and cannot be achieved and how the plans can be turned into reality within budget and timescales. I cannot recommend Mike highly enough.”
