Soft Landscaping
Soft Landscaping Project
In early 2006 I was approached by a Landscape Architect, Max Askew of Askew Nelson and invited to tender for a large soft landscaping project. I duly submitted my tender and after a short wait discovered that I had won the contract.
This West Country manor house had been extensively renovated and the four acre gardens newly landscaped. It was my job to source all the plants, prepare and plant up the borders, also to prepare and turf the new lawn areas.
Throughout the Spring and early Summer of 2006 myself and my team planted 3000 trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, laid 600 square metres of turf, imported 350 tonnes of topsoil and spread 425 bags of mulch.
I was then tasked with keeping all these plants alive throughout one of the hottest summers this century until the full time gardener was able to take over.
Since 2006 my team and I have had the good fortune to have been asked back by the Client on a regular basis to to work closely with Max to continue developing and restoring this garden to its former glory.
